The Center for Canadian Studies. General Information
The Centre for Canadian Studies (the Centre) was officially registered on March 31, 2001 as a department of Canada College, St Petersburg State University to enhance the Canadian Studies component of the College’s two degree programs.
Canada College itself had been established in 1993 by St. Petersburg State University, the Municipal Cultural Centre of St. Petersburg Mayor’s Office, and Canada Christian College (Toronto, Canada) to become the first Russian-Canadian higher education project. Now the project also includes the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. In cooperation with the Faculty of Management, St. Petersburg State University, the College offers its students a three-year program towards a BSc in Management; and in cooperation with the Faculty of Philology, St. Petersburg State University the College offers a three-year program towards a BA in Foreign Languages. Both degrees are recognized and registered both in Russia and Canada
